Telehealth Therapy
You’ve wanted to start therapy for a while but you just can’t seem to find the time. You’ve likely already tried the DIY method of talking with friends and family, listening to podcasts, and reading all the articles and books. Yet, it still feels like there’s something missing.
What is Telehealth?
Online therapy also known as telehealth, allows me to provide quality individual mental health services to you via HIPAA secure video conferencing. We can see each other using a computer, smartphone, or any other device that connects to the internet. There is no confusing software to download, all you need is a confidential space, internet, and headphones and we’re ready to get to work.
When I transitioned to online therapy at the start of the pandemic I was concerned it would prevent me from forming a connection with my clients. I have found this is not an issue as I have helped many clients using online therapy from the convenience of their offices or homes. Many clients actually feel more at ease as they are now able to meet with me and have their pets, favorite blanket, or cup of tea handy.
Research has found that online therapy is as effective as in person therapy for depression and anxiety. It also eliminates additional issues such as:
- Trying to leave the office when you’re just too busy
- Finding childcare
- Confidentiality, seeing your old coworker in the waiting room
- Time spent driving in traffic (avoid 5pm at all costs am I right?)
- Having to put on pants (mostly joking) but seeing a therapist from home is that much more comfortable
- Accountability, it’s a lot harder to avoid difficult sessions when you can join from home
At this time, Mind Body Therapy is 100% virtual. I’m able to work with anyone who resides in Texas, so even if you’re not in Austin, we can still work together. To learn more and get started with virtual therapy, please schedule a free consultation call today.
